Great views out onto the street. Stopped in for a quick snack at the bar. Jalapeno poppers and buffalo tenders. Good service and good food.
It's a very loud place. The Chowder is good. The hanger steak and pork loin were good but mashed potatoes could use some gravy of some type. Without, it's like corn without butter. There were much more mashed potatoes and green beans than there was steak. The steak could also have been seasoned with a bit of salt and pepper so as to give it some taste. This is one of the few places I've eaten where I had soup and a full meal and still had plenty of room for dessert. Instead of bringing bread or crackers or popcorn they brought out some crappy corn nuts that sucked, something I'd expect to get at a corner bar to make me drink more beer. Not what I'd expect with good food.
A great addition to downtown. Had a perfectly cooked pork loin with balsamic cherries and a mustard sauce...perfection! Others had the swordfish and loved it. Great beer and attentive service. Nice clean atmosphere with historic charm. Will be back to try the house made desserts.
Good visit. The tour of the facility was entertaining and educational. Great staff and friendly servers. Food was good and arrived hot. I received men’s a visit to this establishment if you are in the area.
The beer is exceptional!! The food is good but expensive I feel, and just a bit over the top. I go for the beer I really appreciate some of the brews they make in house. But the biggest issue I have is one time I went to fill a growler. ( by the way I have filled up multiple times here) I was told “technically” we can’t fill that and when I asked they said it dosnt have there logo on it, that’s what her manager said. I corrected her and said no I am aware of the refill growler law in mass as long as it has no logo on it and is empty legally you can fill it. Then very rude about it said oh you must be the beer law maker. She got even more pissed when I looked up the mass general law and proved it to her. No hard feeling I still love your beer and will always come back.
